District Mountain Day

Filed under: District News — Webmaster @ 12:30 pm

50 Market Harborough Scouts and Explorers accompanied by 20 District Leaders took part in the Market Harborough District Mountain Day in the Peak District.

All the groups had a 10 mile route to navigate around and fill in a quiz sheet about their route. The terrain varied from exposed limestone edges of Frogget, Carver and White edges to picturesque park and woodland in the Longshaw Estate. Luckily this year the weather held for us (no rain) and it wasn’t windy although there was snow on the top ridges for those who wanted to play and get cold!!

Nearly all the teams completed the 10 mile route and everyone enjoyed the day (even the leaders!!)

Well done to everyone who took part. Two years to the “Next One” so I have a little time to plan it!

Thanks to Terry for walking the route with me a couple of times!, Ian Humphreys who drove the mini bus when asked at the last minute as numbers were getting to much for just a coach.
