Swimming Gala

🏊‍♂️ District Swimming Gala is Back! 🏆

The Swimming Gala is a fun and exciting bi-annual competition between all the Groups in our District. There are trophies for each section: Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts, and Explorers will be involved too!

Every swimmer earns points just for taking part – so the more participants from your Group, the better your chances of winning. It’s also a great way to be part of our wider Scouting family and work toward your Teamwork badge.

📍 Location

Corby International Swimming Pool
Parkland Gateway, George St, Corby NN17 1QB

Please make your own way to and from the pool.

🎒 What to Bring

• Swimming costume
• Towel (2 recommended if entering multiple races)
• Spare t-shirt (optional)
• Bag for wet kit
• Drinks/snacks (café closes at 7pm)
• No outdoor footwear allowed on poolside
• Uniform is NOT required

💷 Cost

£5 per child

✅ How to Take Part

Please respond via Online Scout Manager (OSM) by 30th September:

• Select the race(s) your child wants to take part in (no limit).
• Let us know if you can help marshal – we need volunteers!
• Arrival time for each section on OSM

🏆 Predicted Trophy Presentation Times (in foyer area – please stay and support!)

• 7:30pm – Beavers
• 8:00pm – Cubs
• 8:45pm – Scouts & Explorers

🧭 Directions & Parking

From Market Harborough:

• Follow the A427 to Corby.
• At the roundabout with the BP garage, go straight.
• At the next roundabout (after the Shell garage), go straight again.
• Just before the next roundabout, turn left into the swimming pool car park (see red circle on map – attachment).
  Note: There is a parking charge.

If full:

• Go back to the main road.
• Turn left at the roundabout.
• At the next roundabout, turn right.
• There’s another pay & display car park on the right.
  You’ll need to go around the roundabout at the end of the road and come back to enter it.
