Mark Turner was the Market Harborough scouts district chairman from 2012 till 2014. He was very passionate about scouting standards and loved the Fraser Shield competition.
Upon his sudden death in 2016, a prize in his memory was created to be presented at the Fraser shield which contains items which the winning patrol can use throughout the year to enhance their camping. The Turner Treasure was first presented to the overall winner. Since 2023 this has gone to the patrol the judges deam most worthy of it, with different criteria each year. The Treasure chest is then re-stocked and presented the next year.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
