Judges Comments:

The standard of camping at this year’s competition was exceptionally high. Some patrols improved their scores so well during the camp that a special category has been added, an award for the Patrol that makes the most improvement during the camp. The site was a very level playing field and each Patrol came up with some noteworthy devices to gain points, from novel or complex menu items to useful gadgets and novel themes. The weather conditions were not challenging but overall the tent pitching was equal to anything. The kitchen hygiene and food storage was much better than in previous years, apart from a few minor mishaps. All the patrols ate well, slept well and worked together enthusiastically. The Campfire was a great example of this camaraderie and everyone joined in and did their bits with gusto , making it a memorable evening. The young people responded stoically to the multiple deadlines on Sunday and left their sites cleaner than ever before.
